Lahaina is an old whaling village on the island of Maui. If you stroll down Front Street you will find an eclectic mix of shops offering everything from hand crafted souvenirs, like blown glass and paintings, to locally grown Kona coffee.

There are also many nice jewelry stores featuring a nice array of diamond, colored stone, and pearl jewelry. Nestled among the quant boutiques is Maui Jewelers. Warren Wang and Brent Neal of Eastern Lighting, Inc. paid a visit to this friendly little store owned by Ly Nguyen. While surveying the lighting in her store, Warren and Brent noticed that the LED par lamps in the recessed cans over the jewelry cases had shifted color and suffered from lumen depreciation. Also, the metal halide track fixtures in the windows were making excessive heat and had also changed color.

The lighting doctor’s prescription was to change to the Superlux Par 38 6500k 25 degree bulbs. These bulbs emit an amazing 5000 lumens of bright white light. Just upgrading from the old outdated LED bulbs to the latest technology high lumen par 38 bulbs with fan cooling technology made all the difference in the world in the visual impact of the store’s jewelry cases. Now, Ly’s store is cooler and more comfortable and the jewelry sparkles and pops in the cases!
